It is Wednesday, and she goes to church for the evening prayer meeting. Everyone prays for Milt. Then when she is about to leave for home, Milt's parents arrive, requesting to meet with the Pastor for some counseling. But they share one more piece of information with Doreen as she leaves, knowing what a friend she has been to Milt. They've just heard that Milt is a P.O.W., ...which provides something to cling unto, with hopes he'll one day make it back alive. Doreen hugs them both with unrestrained emotion.
